The way that Alexander Skarsgard looks in these photos makes me want to forgive him for dating that asshat Kate Bosworth. He looks amazing here, doesn’t he? These are photos from Alex’s appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival, where he was promoting Metropia, a odd-looking “animated dystopian thriller” which Alex did voice work for. People Magazine also scored the strangest red carpet interview with Alexander Skarsgard while he was at the premiere. They got him to talk about a “very graphic sex scene” he just shot with a dude on some film (must find), and his personal dating rules.
Alexander Skarsgard has a simple rule when it comes to dates: Focus on the girl, not the activity.
“I try not to plan it out,” the True Blood star, 33, told PEOPLE on Saturday at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of his new movie Metropia in New York. “It has a tendency to get a little stiff and contrived if you work on it too hard. So, I try to be spontaneous.”
But surely a girl will appreciate going to a big event like, say, the Coachella music festival?
“It’s not about what you do, but who you do it with – that’s most important,” says Skarsgard, who has been linked with his Straw Dogs costar Kate Bosworth. “If you are with someone who is awesome and having a good time, you can sit at a bus station and still have fun.”
Not only is Skarsgard spontaneous, he’s also comfortable in his own skin – a good thing, considering the amount of nudity on True Blood. The actor says he doesn’t mind removing his clothes, despite being teased about it occasionally by his five brothers and one sister.
“I’m not a prude at all,” he says. “I shot a very, very graphic scene two days ago with a man. I am from Sweden, and it’s different there. If it makes sense, I’ll just do it. And to me, so far, it’s made sense every single time I’ve got naked or made out on the show.”
One of Skarsgard’s favorite activities when he’s not on the set? Following the Hammarby soccer team from Stockholm, Sweden, where he grew up. “They are not very good but that’s my passion,” he says. “I try to go home a couple of times and go see them play … It’s a big thing for me.”

So, is he talking about Kate Bosworth when he says stuff like “If you are with someone who is awesome and having a good time, you can sit at a bus station and still have fun”? Because Kate is not “awesome.” She’s the kind of girl who will call the paparazzi to tell them where she will be with her boyfriend, then put on her bikini and pose her ass off for them. Like this. Ted Casablanca at E! News was making a big deal about what Alex said, saying, “Anyone else noticing Skarsgård neglected to use a single pronoun there? Surely he’s talking about current squeeze Kate Bosworth. Right? So why all of a sudden so shy? The two were everything but sneaky at the Coachella festival the other weekend. Could it be there’s another special someone is Alexander’s life? Or just what we’ve been saying all along, Skarswood isn’t in it for the long haul. But have fun while it lasts, you two!” Eh. I think Alex and Kate are really dating, and that he really thinks she’s “awesome”. And that makes me sad for him. Poor Swede.
By the way, Juliette Lewis did voice work for Metropia too, and she was all over Alex at Tribeca. They totally make a cuter couple than he and The Bos.
